Melissa is one of 8 children, living in a blended-family home. The family lives in complete poverty. Two women in the household work. One works at a melon factory and the other sells anything she can on the street. Their combined incomes are not enough to feed the whole family.

The children have all been very ill due to the poor diet that they have in addition to severe infections of parasites and scabies. Casa Hogar Vida has been helping this family and the children’s health has improved. Because of support from Casa Hogar Vida, the family now has a water reservoir, and the children are able to bath daily, which is helping them recover from the scabies.

One of the children is infected with HIV and is in need of help with medication, diet and general hygiene. The family all live in a tiny house, with only one bed. The children sleep scattered anywhere they can find room on the dirt floor.

Through the program Casa Hogar Vida we hope to be able to transform the life of these children, and you can help achieve this vision. Melissa is currently sponsored. Her "padrino"’s contribution helps with food, medication and an education – all things we in the western world take for granted.
